Yin Yoga therapeutically stresses your fascia (connective tissue), a practice that will improve any athletic training and promote overall health and well-being. Fascia is one of the most important and least understood components of our bodies. It is also one of the most overlooked aspects of athletic training and performance.
Yin Yoga will help athletes of all types improve the health of their fascia (including tendons and ligaments), elongate their muscles, recover more quickly from strenuous activity, and release stress.
This workshop will include a brief overview of Yin Yoga and its benefits, as well as an assertive Yin class to target muscle groups most often affected by athletic activity (e.g., hamstrings, hips, IT bands). The workshop will conclude with deep relaxation poses to leave participants feeling refreshed and reinvigorated for their next training session or competition.
No previous yoga experience required. Props and mats will be provided.
Free for CBC members, $25 for non-members. This workshop may be limited to 20 people due to the number of props available.
